SafeC 1.0.0-beta-7 ships a web stack with HTTPS, Rust-style async, a GUI toolkit, real-time audio and MIDI, safeguard doc and publish, and the self-hosted compiler behind the online playground — and two breaking changes: a std API built on slices instead of void* and pointer + length pairs, and compiler-enforced Drop and Send/Sync.
safec-org.github.io/safec-docs is now a proper language website — a landing page, a Learn hub, install instructions, a playground, this blog — and it is built entirely by a SafeC program.
Shipped in 1.0.0-beta-7. The log of everything merged on SafeC's main branch after 1.0.0-beta-6 — the web stack, async, the GUI toolkit, audio and MIDI, HTTPS, safeguard doc and publish, the self-hosted compiler behind the online playground — and the two breaking changes: a std API without void* or pointer + length pairs, and compiler-enforced Drop and Send/Sync. With a migration guide.
Since 1.0.0-beta-6, SafeC's standard library gained Rust-style async, real-time audio and MIDI, a full web stack with HTTPS, an anti-aliased GUI toolkit that also runs on Wayland and in the browser, and prebuilt sections; the docs are now built with SafeC and Windows CI is green again.
